Pastor Mark Graham felt a calling to be in the ministry at the early age of 11 years old. By the age of 19 he had already held his first revival meeting. At the age of 20, Pastor Mark married his beautiful wife Linda and they began their evangelistic ministry travelling from church to church across the southern part of the nation. For the first 7 years of their marriage, they travelled and ministered anywhere between 275-300 days a year. Then in 1995 they pioneered their first church in the small Texas town of Nocona. Five years later they felt God was calling them to expand to reach a larger capacity, and relocated their ministry to birth Overcoming Word Praise Center International in the city of Wichita Falls. Overcoming Word Praise Center International actually started in 2001 with the Pastors, their son Nathan, and 3 partners. Their second year here in Wichita Falls; the church began to explode in growth. They added 39 new families alone in 2003. The church has moved 6 times to accommodate the growth that has been taking place. OWPCI today is running an average attendance of 450-500 people with that number continuing to increase
Pastor Mark is also very plugged into the community of Wichita Falls through his weekly television broadcast, The Overcoming Word. His desire is to see the church be a place free of racial, cultural, and financial barriers. Presently, the Overcoming Word Broadcast can now be watched on CFNT, www.overcomingword.org, and will start airing on TBN Russia to a 160 countries in over 140 million homes.
Through the Blessing of God, in June of 2006 Overcoming Word held its first Sunday service at its current location. In November of 2006, OWPCI purchased the 33,000+ sq. ft. facility that sits on over 3 acres. This facility has a sanctuary that seats over 800 people.
Since ’06, OWPCI has added Overcoming Word Bible College, Overcoming Word Christian Academy, and Overcoming Word Children’s Center. The Lord continues to prosper and bless Overcoming Word with new souls coming to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior on a weekly basis. The continual growth of the church has produced several community outreaches from motorcycles to prisons to courthouses. God is using His people to make a change everywhere they go.
The vision of OWPCI is simple, to fulfill the call of God by preaching and teaching the Word of God and by being living, breathing examples of God’s power and ability to save, deliver, heal, and prosper the Body of Christ.
